How payouts work

  1. 01

    Buyer pays

The payment is held by Stripe, not sent to you yet. You can ship knowing it is there.

  2. 02

    You ship

Send the phone with tracking. Nothing is released while it is in transit.

  3. 03

    Buyer inspects

They get 72 hours from delivery to check it against your listing.

  4. 04

    You get paid

When they accept, or the window closes without a dispute, the payout goes to your Stripe account automatically.

Common questions

What does it cost to sell a phone on Honest Phones?
A 3% seller fee, taken from the sale price, with a $0.75 minimum on very cheap items. There is no listing fee and no monthly fee. The buyer pays a separate 3% buyer fee plus card processing, so none of that comes out of your payout.
When do I get paid?
When the buyer accepts the phone, or automatically when their 72-hour inspection window closes without a dispute. The payout goes straight to your Stripe account.
Can I sell a cracked, locked or broken phone?
Yes. Phones in any condition are welcome, including cracked, water damaged, activation locked or parts only, as long as the condition is disclosed in the listing fields.
Why is the buyer’s payment held?
So neither side has to trust the other. The money waits with Stripe until the buyer has checked the phone against its listing, and a seller who disclosed the condition accurately is protected if the buyer disputes something they were told about.
