Where the numbers come from
Wholesale buyback prices for each model and condition plus a typical resale margin, replaced by our own completed sales as they build up.
Why each price is a range
Storage size and carrier lock move a phone within its grade: a 1TB unlocked phone sits at the top, a 128GB carrier-locked one at the bottom.
How grades are decided
The same five grades every listing here uses, worked out from the screen, housing, locks, battery and faults rather than chosen by the seller.
How grading works →Selling a phone, working or not?
List it in any condition. 3% seller fee, IMEI checked before it goes live, and the buyer's payment held in escrow until they accept it.
Common questions
- How are these prices worked out?
- Each range starts from current wholesale buyback prices for that model and condition, across every storage size and both carrier-locked and unlocked phones, plus a typical resale margin. Once enough phones sell on Honest Phones, our own completed sales replace those numbers. Every model page says which source it uses and when it was last checked.
- Why is there a range instead of one price?
- Storage size and carrier lock move a phone within its condition grade. A 1TB unlocked phone sits at the top of its range and a 128GB carrier-locked one at the bottom.
- What is an iCloud-locked phone worth?
- An iCloud- or Google-locked phone cannot be set up by anyone else, so it is worth parts value only, whatever its cosmetic condition. That is the Parts only column.
- Can I sell my phone on Honest Phones?
- Yes, in any condition, including cracked, water damaged, locked or parts only. The seller fee is 3%, the IMEI is checked before the listing goes live, and the buyer’s payment is held in escrow until they accept the phone.
